Become a Volunteer

Credit unions are unique, non-for-profit, cooperative financial institutions owned by their members and guided by volunteers. As a not-for-profit organization, volunteers play important roles in our success. Therefore, AFTRA-SAG Federal Credit Union is always looking for dedicated volunteers from within our membership to help serve as a volunteer.

A volunteer requires a commitment of time without compensation, a desire to serve, a willingness to learn, and the discipline to carry out the specific duties of a federally credit union volunteer.

Some basic expectations of a credit union volunteer are:
  • A willingness to attend meetings and participate
  • An understanding of and/or willingness to learn about basic business concepts
  • At all times, act in the best interest of the members and the credit union
  • Be a fully engaged member of the credit union for at least 1 year
  • Be a member in good standing
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer and you feel you meet the qualifications, please contact the credit union providing your interest and we will mail you a volunteer application. Please send your letter of interest to:

We will also ask to see your driver's license or other identifying government issued documents (State Issued Non-Driver ID, Military ID, Military Dependent ID, Passport, Permanent Resident Card). Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA) of 2006

The UIGEA, signed into law in 2006, prohibits any person engaged in the business of betting or wagering (as defined in the Act) from knowingly accepting payments in connection with the participation of another person in unlawful internet gambling. The Department of Treasury and the Federal Reserve Board have issued a joint final rule, Regulation GG, to implement this Act.

As defined in Regulation GG, unlawful Internet gambling means to place, receive, or otherwise knowingly transmit a bet or wager by any means which involves the use, at least in part, of the Internet where such a bet or wager is unlawful under applicable Federal or State law in the State or Tribal Lands in which the bet or wager is initiated, received, or otherwise made.

As a member of AFTRA-SAG Federal Credit Union, these restricted transactions are prohibited from being processed through your account or banking relationship with us. If you do engage in an Internet gambling business and open a new account with us, we will ask that you provide evidence of your legal capacity to do so.
